Sawyer's First Christmas
Our first Christmas with baby Sawyer was wonderful......and eventful! There were lots of things going on. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at Nana and Papa Heberlein's house. We spent Christmas Day at Sawyer's Great Uncle Richard and Great Aunt Sherry's house. We spent Christmas night and the next day at Grandpa and Grandpa Switzer's house. The following day we visited Sawyer's Great Grandmother Gigi and Ki at their apartment in Denton.
Sawyer is 5 1/2 months old, and until now, he has not gotten sick. He got very sick for the first time on Christmas Eve. We had just walked into church for the Christmas Eve service and Sawyer started vomiting. We immediately left and went back to my parents house. Sawyer got progressively worse over the next 2 hours. He vomited 7 times and had 2 cases of diarrhea. He was very pale and was shaking and his lips were turning blue. We were on the phone with the pediatrician's nurse. She thinks he had some sort of tummy virus. It was so scary! He was very dehydrated, so the nurse said that I needed to nurse Sawyer for 5 minutes every 30 minutes for the next 8 hours. So much for getting sleep on Christmas Eve! The good news was that the nursing seemed to help and Sawyer was totally better by the next morning. He sure did give us a Christmas scare! We will never have trouble remembering the first time he got sick!
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

Sawyer Met Santa!
Sawyer met Santa for the first time today. He didnt cry, he just sat calmly in Santa's lap and smiled for the camera. Santa tickled his feet. Then Sawyer looked up at Santa and stared for a minute and smiled. Here is his picture with Santa!
P.S. If you click on the picture, it will show you a bigger one, where you can see a little better.

Sawyer is proud of his Daddy.....
This Saturday, the Prosper Eagles will play for the 3A State Title in Football at Texas Stadium. Sawyer's Daddy started coaching at Prosper this summer, after 3 years of coaching at Hawley HS in West Texas. Who would have thought that this year they would go all the way to state? Sawyer says...Go Eagles!

Where has the time gone?
Today Sawyer is 5 Months Old.
Where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital!
Here are some of the things that he is currently doing:
~Smiling and Laughing alot!
~Drooling alot!
~Still not sleeping through the night!
~Loves to grab peoples faces, especially Daddy's. He will hit you in the face too, if your not careful.
~Loves to snuggle with Mommy. He buries his head in Mommys shoulder when he is tired.
~Thinks songs and games are fun. He loves "Patty Cake" and "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". He plays "Peek a Boo" with Daddy.
~Has started to really talk (not real words) outloud. Lots of baby babbling to listen too.
~Is eating cereal twice a day and pretty much all of it is going down to his tummy! (Except when Daddy feeds him, thats a messy story).
~Still loves his Baby Einstein Mat.
~Has his favorite stuffed animals and toys, which are Mr. Elephant, Captain Duck, Duckie, Pooh Bear, Froggy, and his football.
~Loves to cuddle with Mommy.
~Has discovered his feet and tries to grab onto them whenever he gets the chance. Bathtime has become a time for him to grab onto his own feet as much as possible!
~Still shoving his fist into his mouth whenever possible, hes getting close to getting the whole thing in there, oh no!
~Loves looking at the lights and ornaments on the Christmas Tree.
I am looking forward to our first Christmas with our little angel.

Little Friends
Today Sawyer hung out with his friend Tucker! Sawyer and Tucker are 2 months and 1 day apart. Tucker was born on May 8th and Sawyer was born on July 9th. We went over to his house to play today! It was really fun! When we put the boys down on the carpet to play together, they reached out for each others hands and held hands! It was really really cute! Here are some pictures of them sitting together on the couch. These sure are two wonderful boys! I sure hope they will grow up to be friends for life!

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
Sawyer spent the day with me at Texas Stadium today. My students are performing with the Jonas Brothers for the Thanksgiving Halftime, so we had to rehearse all day today. I decided to take Sawyer to meet the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I have a few friends who are cheerleaders, and I knew they would want to meet him and I was hoping to get some pictures. When I approached the group of cheerleaders, I didnt immediately see any of my friends, I just asked the first few cheerleaders that I saw if they would be willing to take a picture with him. They started oohing and ahhing over him and pretty soon all the cheerleaders were crowded around him, taking turns holding him, and just loving on him. It was so precious. Sawyer was facinated with the cheerleader's blue and silver pom poms. He grabbed onto one and wouldnt let go. It was so cute. All of the cheerleaders thought he was so cute. They wanted to keep taking turns holding him, but they got called to go down to the field. My friends Sarah, Trisha and Crystal all took a picture with him as well as some other cheerleaders. It was a really neat experience that I know he will appreciate when he is older! How often do you get the World Famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders to oooh and ahhh over you like that?

Household Updates
Lots of things have been going on in our household lately.
For our Christmas Gift from my parents (Kathy and Ed), they paid to have the outside of our house painted. What a wonderful gift! I chose to have the trim and siding painted in a pretty creme Organza color. I really love it! I also had the front door painted a pretty shade of green. It used to be a more Christmasy green and now it is a lighter, more modern green. The house looks great! Its amazing what a coat of paint will do! It makes it look like a new house!
We put our Christmas tree up this week. We bought a new tree from Garden Ridge. We sold the tree that we previously had in our garage sale before we moved. We bought a 7 1/2 foot pre-lit tree with colored lights. It looks really nice in our living room. I have spent all week decorating the tree. In the past I have always used white lights and all silver decorations. Now I have decided to make it a fun, family, colorful tree with all different family ornaments. My mom got out some of my ornaments from my childhood and I put some of them on there. Plus, I put all of the ornaments that Aaron and I have collected since we have gotten married. The only thing missing is an angel for the top of the tree. We had a white and silver angel, but since our tree now has colored lights, our angel does not match. I will be looking for a new angel that is bright and beautiful and will look great on the top of our tree. I am sure I will find something I like, its just a matter of getting to the store to pick it out!
We will spend this Sunday doing an early Thanksgiving with my side of the family. We will spend the actual Thanksgiving Day with Aaron's side of the family. For the past 10 years or so, I have spent Thanksgiving at the Dallas Cowboys game. My students always perform at the halftime. This year, one of my company instructors will be taking the girls to the game for me. Since I have Sawyer now, I really want to spend his first Thanksgiving with him. When he gets older, we can probably take him to the Cowboys game with us. I will be bringing him to Texas Stadium on Wednesday to the halftime rehearsal. I have several friends that are Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and I want to get his picture taken with them. Hopefully the weather will be nice and it wont be too cold.
Well, we hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are thankful for everything we have, especially our wonderful baby boy. He makes every day wonderful.

What a big boy!
Sawyer is growing into such a big boy! He grows up more every day! Below is a picture of him wearing big boy shoes for the first time. What a cutie! He loves playing on his Baby Einstein Mat. Whenever the star lights up and plays music he loves it! He also loves grabbing onto the circle with the colored beads on it. He now can get a pretty strong grip on it. We love watching him become facinated with the world around him!
