Birthday Boy!

Well, Sawyer turned 2 today! Where has the time gone? I cannot believe it has been 2 years since we brought our angel into the world! Sawyer had his 2-year doctor visit today and it went well. He is 35 1/4 inches tall, which puts him in the 74% percentile for height. He is 27.4 pounds, which puts him in the 43% percentile for weight. So he is getting taller which is great! He hardly gained any weight in the last 6 months, I am surprised! Since his birthday party is tomorrow, we decided to celebrate on our own tonight. We got Sawyer a piece of cake to dig into and he enjoyed it!

2 candles!

Yum!

He wasnt afraid to make a mess.

Sawyer definately needed a bath after that piece of cake. Look at that frosting mustache!

We decided to let Sawyer open a few presents from Mommy and Daddy tonight.
Getting good practice for tomorrow's party by ripping open the wrapping paper.

Sesame Street hopscotch!

A backpack for Elmo! It zips and unzips and is made of tin, so you can store crayons and other fun stuff inside.

A special book that Mommy had made for Sawyer. Its a Sesame Street book that is personalized for Sawyer and has Sawyer as one of the characters in the story!

The big presents from Mommy and Daddy had both already been opened....a new toybox and a new kids table and chairs set both from Pottery Barn Kids. Sawyer is enjoying both! We cant wait for the big party tomorrow!

Happy 4th of July!

Sawyer had a fun-filled 4th of July. Saturday he got to spend the day with Nana & Papa, and Sunday he got to go to the lakehouse to see Grandma & Grandpa and all of his cousins. He had so much fun!

Here he is showing Mommy a rock he found.

He was definately dressed in patriotic gear. Thank you to Nana for the shorts and Grandma for the shirt!

Sweet Sawyer.

We took Sawyer in the lake to swim. He did not want to swim in the lake this time. He has done it before and loved it. The waves were bigger this time and he was not happy. So we only took a short swim!

Later in the night, Daddy shot of fireworks from the dock. Sawyer stayed up in the house and watched through the windows. The first "boom" he heard he got very scared and tried to hide by me. But after that, he was okay, and liked watching the fireworks. He kept saying "It's okay". During one of the bigger fireworks, he said "stars!". Towards the end, I brought Sawyer outside to take him to the car. A few loud fireworks went off and he got very scared, he was clinging to me for dear life! I think he is just still a little bit too young. He still had fun though, he got to play with some glow sticks instead of sparklers, and he thought they were great!
We hope you had a fun-filled 4th of July!

Almost 2

In about a week, Sawyer will be turning the big 2! Mommy is very busy making party preparations! Here are some pictures of Sawyer over the last few weeks. He is enjoying his last few weeks of being one, as he gets ready for turning 2!
My sweet boy

He is very helpful, here he is watering Great-Grandma Gigis plant.

Sweaty and thirsty!

Enjoying an ice cream cone with Nana and Papa.

Yum!

One of Sawyer's birthday presents from Mommy & Daddy was a new toy chest. We decided to put it together tonight and Sawyer had a blast "helping" put it together and then he was thrilled with the finished product. Here he is "sleeping" in it.

Silly boy!

Standing up in the new toy chest

He was very happy with it.

Hanging over the side like a little monkey.

My sweet boy.

Silly.

I cant believe he is almost 2!
